Frequently Asked Questions About Repovesi National Park

Olhavanvuori Rock. Photo: Markus Sirkka. What is the terrain like in Repovesi National Park?

  • Hikers should wear sturdy shoes for hikes in the park, as paths and trails are often rocky and covered in roots. Cliffs and especially their edges and roots growing on them are very slippery. Loose stones can also be deceptive. Hikers should reserve more time than usual for their hikes.

Is it possible to swim in Repovesi National Park?

  • Swimming is permitted in all places where visitors are permitted to be in general. Hermusenlahti Bay, which has a nice swimming spot, is next to Tervajärvi Parking Area. Other good swimming places are the shore at the camping site at Lake Valkjärvi and Hillosensalmi Sound.
