Other Areas

Do you feel you have explored all corners of Finland? What if there is still a gem of nature hiding somewhere? A number of natural attractions may just be waiting for you. Even a short excursion to a beautiful spot is worth the effort. So slow down and stop to admire the silvery pines, impressive cliffs and free-flowing waterfalls. There are places that capture your imagination, such as Magneettimäki (“Magnet Hill”), the Prospectors’ Mine or the fascinating shore stacks in the archipelago. If you prefer a glimpse of history, you should step into Jääkäripirtti (“Soldiers’ Cabin”) or stop by Kuninkaanlähde (“King’s Spring”).

The Other Areas section introduces a range of destinations intended for hiking and recreation but not established by law. These include, for example, Metsähallitus’ recreational forests and many other popular destinations on State lands.
